BOISE, Idaho — The first of four Idaho Department of Corrections officers was sentenced to 37 months in prison on Friday.
36-year-old Robert Wallin was sentenced to 37 months in prison, in addition to three years of supervised release once his prison sentence has ended, according to U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis.
The four officers were arrested in April following an FBI operation, requested by the IDOC, to weed out corruption in Idaho prisons among correctional officers.
Wallin pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to aid and abet drug trafficking. He joined Timothy Landon, 36, in the drug-trafficking organization, where guards provided security and did other jobs for the undercover FBI agents that staged drug and drug money drop offs and deliveries.
The three other officers, Richard McCollough, 37, Landon, and Erik Thompson, 38, and are all awaiting sentencing.
McCollough will be sentenced on Feb. 25, while Landon will be sentenced on Feb. 26.
Thompson will be sentenced on April 7.
