POCATELLO - A 15-year-old eastern Idaho girl has died and seven other juveniles have suffered injuries in a rollover crash that occurred early Saturday morning in Pocatello.
19-year-old James Smith lost control of his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee at about 3:25 a.m. along Trail Creek Road, and the SUV overturned as it went down an embankment, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.
Police say that eight juvenile passengers who were riding with Smith were not wearing seat belts. The girl who died was ejected from the vehicle. The seven other passengers were taken to Portneuf Medical Center.
The victims' names have not been released.
Police say Smith was wearing a seat belt, and was not injured.
ISP continues to investigate, and has not released a possible cause for the crash.
