BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Labor said on Tuesday, Idaho wages rose $2.06 between 2022 and 2023.
According to a news release, IDL reviewed data from an annual survey made by the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics. The survey revealed in 2023 the average hourly wage for Idahoans' was $26.75, an increase of 8.3% compared to 2022.
The department reported a 10.4% increase in the median hourly wage from $19.26 to $21.27. The median was determined by the midway point from the lowest to highest-paid earners in the state.
The report also shows more Idahoans were employed in the state. In 2022, 797,420 residents were employed, and that number increased to 822,690 in 2023, and increase of 3.2%. The department states Boise saw most of the growth as 14,240 jobs were added.
