'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas': Caldwell begins decorating for Winter Wonderland

Caldwell parks and streets departments are working to transform the Indian Creek Plaza area into a ‘Winter Wonderland’ with over a million LED lights.

BOISE, Idaho — The City of Caldwell is installing lights along Indian Creek to get ready for the annual Winter Wonderland Festival.

This year’s holiday event will feature more than a million LED lights, features on the water and a 60-foot RGB LED tree.

Parks and Streets staff members started work to cover trees and shrubs in early September with lights.

Caldwell Parks Superintendent, Daniel McDonald said this project is a big undertaking.

"It takes a lot, especially this year, Parks is having to kind of try to figure out how to balance their responsibilities with maintaining parks, as well as the setup of Winter Wonderland," McDonald said.

18 crew members are working to cover nearly all the vegetation along Indian Creek.

"It's going to be epic this year. It's we try to do something a little bit better every year. The addition of the tree will be the main attraction this year." Said McDonald.

The Winter Wonderland Festival starts Friday Nov. 22nd with a tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.
