BOISE -- The Ironman 70.3 triathlon has decided not to renew its venue contract in Boise.
According to the Boise Ironman 70.3 website, the event has decided against extending its current contract with the venues involved in the race.
A statement posted on their website thanked Boise for the eight years it has hosted the event.
"We appreciate the efforts and support of the city, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone else involved in putting on this triathlon over the past eight years. We would also like to thank all of the athletes who have raced with us in Boise."
The Ironman 70.3 is an international triathlon with locations across the globe. The race features a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run.
The Boise course took runners from Lucky Peak Reservoir to the Boise foothills, ultimately finishing at Julia Davis Park.
