2 arrested in connection to a hit and run injuring a woman near an Elmore County railroad track, ISP says

Idaho State Police received a call that a woman was tied to a railroad track. She was not, but was seriously injured.

ELMORE COUNTY, Idaho — Police found a woman injured near a railroad track early Wednesday morning in Elmore County, Idaho State Police (ISP) reported.

ISP said at 12:29 a.m. on July 3, officers responded to a call about a woman being tied up on the railroad tracks near Power Plant Road in Elmore County. Police found a 20-year-old woman who "was not tied up" on the railroad tracks, but was seriously injured.

She was taken to the hospital for her injuries, police said.

ISP reported the incident happened after the woman was in an argument with two other women, the two got into a car and ran over the 20-year-old woman. Police found the suspect's vehicle on the side of the road three miles from the crash. 

ISP arrested the driver, a 20-year-old from Buhl, on felony charges of aggravated DUI, leaving the scene of a crash, and misdemeanor charges of driving without privileges and an open container.

The passenger, a 21-year-old from Wendell, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

Idaho State Police is still investigating.
