NEW YORK -- Bronco Nation may not have a Heisman Trophy winner, but it does have the 4th best college football player in the country.

Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore placed 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting. Heis the first Bronco to ever be a finalist for the football honor. It's the highest a Bronco has ever finished in the Heisman voting. That finish surpassed Moore's 2009 finish at 7th place.

The voting breakdown left Moore with 40 1st place votes, 165 2nd place votes and 185 3rd place votes.

926 ballots were mailed out and 866 of those ballots were returned to determine the winner. Moore received 635 points in the voting to come out belowthe other finalists: Auburn's CamNewton, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck and Oregon running back LaMichael James.

The trophy itself went to Newton.

Moore did receive a national honor Saturday in the form of his selection as the All-America team quarterback.
