BOISE -- No one was hurt when a Channel 7 news vehicle caught fire Monday morning on Bogus Basin Road.
A member of KTVB's engineering staff was driving up to the station's transmitter to check on a malfunctioning fire alarm when he noticed the SUV was smoking. It burst into flames as he was looking for a spot to pull over, he said.
The employee was able to get the vehicle to the side of the road and get out safely. He called 911 just after 11 a.m.
The SUV was completely engulfed in flames. Idaho State Police blocked off Bogus Basin Road for about 30 minutes.
The vehicle and equipment inside it was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire was unknown.
