BOISE -- Idaho State Police arrested four Add the Words protesters Friday night at the state Capitol.
The protesters stood silently, with their hands over their mouths, holding photos in the rotunda. Friday, a flutist joined them. The capitol was silent, except for her music.
Just before 10 p.m., Capitol security locked all the outside doors to the Capitol. Our crew watched the rest of the events transpire from outside.
Idaho State Police showed up in several squad cars around 10:30 p.m. They handcuffed four people in the rotunda who, it appeared, refused to leave and took them into custody. The whole process took about 15 minutes.
The Add the Words cause aims to get the Idaho legislature to add protections for the LGBT community to the Idaho Humans Rights Act.
