Lightning sparks wildfire in Gem County

<p>The Cherry Fire burns along a ridge in Gem County on Sunday.</p>

GEM COUNTY - Firefighters from the Bureau of Land Management expect to contain the Cherry Gulch Fire near Ola by Tuesday night.

A BLM spokesman tells KTVB that they were notified of the fire just after 6:30 Sunday evening.

Five engines, three dozers and 55 personnel worked to knock the fire down, which burned more than 228 acres

Officials say they are not aware of any structures that were threatened.

The fire is expected to be contained by 10 p.m. Monday night with full control on Tuesday evening. It is believed to have been sparked by lightning Sunday morning.
