3 elk shot illegally, left to rot in Bonneville County

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is offering a reward for information that leads to a citation.

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), is reporting that three elk were shot and left on private property in Bonneville County on Thursday, Oct 12. A cow, calf and a six-point bull were killed east of Idaho Falls near Kepps Crossing Road.

The elk were shot out of season and IDFG is offering a reward for information that leads to a citation.

"Given the busy nature of the Kepps Crossing Road, Conservation Officers with Idaho Fish and Game are hoping that someone may have witnessed the shooting or have information that will help solve the case," a news release stated.

IDFG asks that anyone with information to call the Citizens Against Poaching Hotline at 1-800-632-5999, the Upper Snake Regional Office at 208-525-7290 or report online at https://idfg.idaho.gov/poacher. People can remain anonymous when leaving tips.
