JEROME COUNTY, Idaho — Four people have died after a crash at the junction of U.S. Highway 93 and Highway 25 in Jerome County. According to Idaho State Police (ISP), on Friday, Oct. 13 around 7 a.m., a 35-year-old man from Mexico driving a 2010 Dodge Caravan going west didn't yield at a stop sign and hit a 48-year-old man from Twin Falls in a 2006 Autocar garbage truck going north.
Following the crash a 30-year-old man driving a 1993 GMC Sierra pickup slowed down for traffic and was rear-ended by a 32-year-old woman from Shoshone in a 2013 Dodge Dart.
The driver of the Caravan and three passengers died in the crash; a 33-year-old woman from Chihuahua, Mexico, 20-year-old man from San Luis Potosi, Mexico and a 21-year-old man from Veracruz, Mexico.
Two other passengers in the Caravan, a 33-year-old man from Juarez, Mexico, and a 32-year-old woman from Idaho Falls were taken to the hospital.
According to ISP, the drivers and passengers in the GMC and Dodge Dart drove themselves to the hospital. Traffic was blocked for about five and a half hours.
