BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Bicycle Project's (BBP) 17th annual Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway, is Sunday Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families of kids that were involved can head down to the organization located at 1027 South Lust Street.
"Kids and families can come down and receive their dream bicycle, safety gear, and a lesson on how to ride safely. They will also have access to a safe riding course, holiday treats and cocoa, free winter clothes, and the raddest; most supportive community in Boise as more than 300 volunteers help pull the event together," a news release stated.
The BBP said they had over 500 referrals for kids who needed bikes. To enroll kids sent in a photo of what their dream bike would look like and then a huge amount of volunteers worked to make those dreams come true.
"Kids have drawn bicycles of every shape, color and size - fast bikes, ladybug bikes, bikes that match their best friend's bikes, dinosaur bikes and literally hundreds of other incredible ideas. Now, we are asking you for your help in making these bicycles turn from a dream into reality! " - Devin McComas, Executive Director, BBP.
