Canyon County patrol vehicle honors Special Olympics Idaho

“As it patrols our streets, it carries with it the flame of hope and serves as a testament to the athletes who give their all on the field," Sheriff Donahue said.

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho — The Canyon County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has partnered with Special Olympics Idaho to create a patrol vehicle, honoring the Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics.

It is the first of its kind in the state and was unveiled at a fundraiser for the Special Olympics hosted by CCSO and the Texas Roadhouse. The CCSO also thanked The Sign Shoppe in Caldwell for designing the patrol vehicle. Kristi Kraft, CEO of Special Olympics Idaho said her organization was honored to partner with the sheriff's office.

“The new Law Enforcement Torch Run patrol car represents our joint effort to promote unity and inclusion. It's a testament to the positive impact we can achieve when we collaborate. Let's use this opportunity to celebrate diversity and inclusion to support one another," Kraft said.

Sheriff Kieran Donahue echoed the sentiment made by Kraft.

“This vehicle is a tribute to the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Idaho and honors the spirit of determination, resilience, and unity that defines the Special Olympics community,” said Sheriff Donahue. “As it patrols our streets, it carries with it the flame of hope and serves as a testament to the athletes who give their all on the field. CCSO is honored to partner with Special Olympics Idaho to help raise awareness and ongoing support for an organization that means so much to so many.”
