Local fire agencies are gathering donations for Durkee firefighters

Kuna and Nyssa Fire Departments are asking for help gathering supplies for over 500 firefighters in Durkee, Oregon.

KUNA, Idaho — Last Saturday, a team from the Nampa and Kuna wildfire task force were deployed to help combat wildfires in the State of Oregon. With multiple local firefighters on the line, multiple agencies in the Treasure Valley area are asking the community for help with gathering supplies. 

The donations needed are provided below.

  •  Gallon Zip Lock Baggies
  •  Personal Hygiene Products (Deodorant, Body Powder, Toothpaste, etc.)
  • Sunscreen
  • Hard Candy that won't melt
  •  Individual packaged snacks (won't melt and no chocolate)
  •  Hydration packs (Liquid IV, Drip Drops, etc)
  • Wet wipes (small packets)

Drop off stations:

Kuna Fire Station - 150 W. Boise St. Kuna 

The department states if they are on a call, to please leave the items by the front door.

Nyssa Fire Department -  203 Good Avenue

 They will be accepting donations on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. However on Friday they will be accepting donations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The Nyssa Fire department also stated "If you would like to donate outside of these hours please send us a PM, contact Alisson Fales or items can be dropped at Parma Rural Fire & EMS Members Page station, the Ontario Fire station, or Four Rivers Cultural Center and Museum (before 4pm)."
