Idaho Fourth Judicial District Court appoints new judge to bench

On Nov. 17, 2023, the Magistrates Commission appointed Matthew Haynes to the Ada County bench.

BOISE, Idaho — After a competitive recruitment process, the Magistrates Commission decided on Matthew Haynes to be appointed to the Ada County bench on the Idaho Fourth Judicial District Court. 

On Nov. 17, the Fourth Judicial District, which represents Ada, Boise, Elmore and Valley counties, appointed the Ada County Prosecutor. 

Haynes fills the vacancy created by Judge Annie McDevitt's appointment to the district bench, a news release stated.

Haynes was admitted to the Idaho Bar in 2013 and began working at the Ada County Prosecutor's Office in March of 2015. According to the release, he most recently served on the district court felony trial team. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Idaho Peace Officers' Memorial for over eight years.
