BOISE, Idaho — An appeal hearing on the future of the Union Block Building is scheduled by the city of Boise for Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m.
The building was previously ordered to be vacated by the city in November of 2023 because of "safety concerns" but the owner appealed the decision.
As KTVB previously reported, the ACHD also closed the surrounding sidewalk and road on Idaho Street between Capitol Boulevard and 8th Street the city then put up a notice to vacate and deemed it unsafe. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city.
The appeal hearing, held by the Boise City council, allows the public to comment and it's open to everyone. For more information people can go to cityofboise.org.
