'Lights of Hope' event a tribute to people lost to cancer

The event is on the State Capitol steps Saturday, Oct. 21 at 4:30 p.m.

BOISE, Idaho — The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACSCAN) is hosting its annual "Lights of Hope" event. The community gathers as a way to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate survivors.

"As the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, the organization works to ensure cancer is a top priority for policymakers at every level of government. ACS CAN empowers volunteers across the country to make their voices heard to influence public policy change that saves lives from cancer in Oregon and nationwide," a news release stated.

The event in Boise is Saturday, Oct. 21 on the Capitol steps at 4:30 p.m. For more information people can go to the ACSCAN website.
