BEAR LAKE COUNTY, Idaho — The Idaho State Police (ISP) report a crash that happened on Oct. 29 has left one man dead and two in the hospital.
Police said the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 89, close to U.S. Highway 36. A 21-year-old woman from Ogden, Utah was driving a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe going north on Highway 89. She was merging onto Highway 36 when she crossed the middle line and hit a 54-year-old man from Ogden, Utah, driving a 2003 Cadillac Deville going south.
According to police, the driver of the Cadillac was not wearing a seatbelt and later died at the hospital from his injuries. He also had two passengers in the car that were taken to the hospital, no word on their condition.
Both highways were closed for about three hours while crews cleared the road. ISP is investigating the crash.
