TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) has announced their stocking schedule for the Magic Valley this month.

IDFG's Magic Valley Region will be stocking roughly 37,550 rainbow trout that will be 10-12 inches in length, all catchable sizes.

All you need to get started, IDFG said, is a fishing license and some tackle. Annual fishing licenses for adults run about $30, for ages 14-17 a license costs about $16, and kids under 14 fish for free.

The dates and number of fish listed below are tentative, and depends on weather conditions:

  • Salmon Falls Creek: September 30 - October 4 - 300 trout
  • Freedom Park Pond: September 30 - October 4 - 500 trout
  • Filer Kids Pond & Filer Pond: September 30 - October 4  - 450 trout
  • Burley Pond: September 30 - October 4 - 2,000 trout

While most Idaho waters are open year-round, some bodies of water may have different rules. IDFG recommends picking up a 2022-24 Idaho Fishing Seasons and Rules Booklet to see all the rules.
