Massage parlors raided in prostitution sting

BOISE-- Police say six women with ties to six area massage parlors were arrested on misdemeanor prostitution charges Wednesday and taken to the Ada County Jail.

Boise Police say the vice sting happened on Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives with the Boise Police Vice-Narcotics Unit, working with Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers, say they made the arrests as part of an undercover investigation.

Detectives reported when they entered the massage parlors and paid for a massage, they were also offered sex for money.

The businesses cited include: Sunflower Spa, Hou Spa, J Spa, Apple Spa, Hong Kong Spa, and the Aloha Spa.

The investigation began three or four weeks ago, after police received several citizen complaints.

Our plans with this investigation are that we're working closely with the city clerk's office and the city attorney's office - and our plans are, with them, to shut down these businesses that have repeated violations so that it's not a continual problem. said Boise Police Lt. Ron Winegar.

Those arrested include: 57-year-old Zhang Miehua from Boise, 52-year-old Kim Sook from Boise, 47-year-old Jenny Richardson from Los Angeles, 51-year-old Fenghua Sanford from Garden City, 60-year-old Leslie Ji Yean Kim from Los Angeles, and 55-year-old Yanjie Li from Boise.

As of Thursday morning, all six women had bonded out of the Ada County Jail.

The businesses cited Wednesday night are temporarily closed, with their business licenses suspended for 60 days.

The city may take further action if the women now charged with prostitution are found guilty.
