New library unveiled in Meridian Library District

The Meridian Library District celebrates the opening of its new South Meridian branch with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — The Meridian Library District opened its newest branch Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebrated the districts 100th anniversary.

The building is 11,000 square feet and features reading spaces for adults and kids, meeting space for the public and a gaming space for teenagers.

Pinnacle branch was paid for in part by the $14 million levy passed in 2019.

Library Director Nick Grove said he’s excited to open this space for the community to enjoy.

"When you come out and see this new branch, I hope that you feel a sense of home. This is built to be a home away from home. Come in, explore, and we hope that this becomes your library, that this is something that you find ownership over, and find a love of coming back to again and again, to find the resources and classes events and connections that you can't find anywhere else." Said Grove.

To honor their 100th anniversary, the district is issuing limited edition library cards that feature a 100-years design.

You can get one of the special cards at any one of Meridian Library Districts branches.
