MERIDIAN, Idaho — On Monday, the Meridian Speedway posed a question that many assumed as a joke – "dude, where's my pace car?"
The question was posted to the Meridian Speedway Facebook page, informing the public that the car is missing, no joke. The speedway in Monday's post asks the public if they have seen the car at a chop shop, on Facebook Marketplace, or simply parked in front of a house.
If spotted, and properly reported, the locator could win a season pass to the Meridian Speedway, plus "a family's worth of tickets for one event of your choosing".
The Meridian Speedway's Fairly Reliable Bob's Pace Car hasn't been seen since June 4. The speedway asks that if anyone knows of the whereabouts of the car to call the Meridian Police Department's non-emergency line at 208-888-6678.
Meridian Speedway was registered in the National Register of Historic Places earlier in 2024, and has been operating for nearly 75 years. The speedway is one of only four paved quarter-mile race tracks in the Gem State.
