BOISE, Idaho — Every year Micron Technology gives its employees either a turkey or a ham, which they can then choose to donate them to the Idaho Foodbank. The Idaho Foodbank says that this season Micron employees have donated 1,330 turkeys and 552 hams to the Idaho foodbank, delivering food to more than a thousand households.
Since 2011, The Idaho Foodbank says that Micron has donated more than 262,412 pounds of food. In addition to food, Micron employees also donate their time year-round through the Idaho Foodbank's volunteer program.
The Micron Foundation has also contributed more than $1,000,000 to The Idaho Foodbank through its philanthropy and team member donation matching program, including funds to support expanding the foodbank's capacity for providing fresh fruits and vegetables.
"We appreciate the engagement of Micron employees to make this donation happen," said Randy Ford, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank. "Micron's ongoing support of The Idaho Foodbank has made a positive impact for Idahoans facing food insecurity and this donation will help more of our neighbors enjoy a holiday meal."
If you are interested in giving, The Idaho Foodbank gratefully accepts food and fund donations with a goal of helping feed food insecure families in Idaho during the Holiday season.
