ELMORE COUNTY, Idaho — A minor has died, and five other people are in the hospital after a single-car rollover crash, west of Mountain Home on Interstate 84. According to Idaho State Police (ISP), the crash was caused when a rear passenger tire blew.
Police said the rollover happened near milepost 83 in Elmore County on Saturday, Mar. 16 around 3 p.m. A 45-year-old male from Filer, was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition headed west when a rear tire blew. ISP said the car veered off the highway, rolled several times and ended in a field.
ISP said there were six people in the car, three minors and three adults. One minor died at the scene, three of the people were taken to the hospital by air and two were taken by ground ambulance.
The department said it is investigating.
