The Valley County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) announced Tuesday that officers are searching for a 73-year-old man who went missing while rafting the Salmon River on Friday. Police said his blue Maravia Cataraft has since been located, after last being seen north of the Boundary Creek launch.

Thomas Gray, 73, from North Fork, Idaho departed Friday for a two-day river rafting trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River near the eastern border of Valley County and Custer County. Gray's family told VCSO that he had successfully completed the route several times.

Gray launched his raft from Marsh Creek on Friday, May 17 and was expected to complete his route at the confluence of the main Salmon River on Sunday, May 19., according to VCSO.

Valley County Sheriff's Office are seeking information regarding Thomas Gray and his possible whereabouts. As of Tuesday, Valley County Search and Rescue continue their search.

Investigators said that if you or someone you know was on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River between May 17 and May 19, from Marsh Creek to Indian Creek, to contact police dispatch at 208-382-5160.
