MERIDIAN -- One man was taken to the hospital Monday after his motorcycle collided with a pickup in Meridian.
The wreck happened at about 6:15 p.m. on Meridian Road at the intersection with Victory Road.
Meridian Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea said the motorcycle was headed north on Meridian Road when a southbound Chevy Silverado attempted to make a left turn onto Victory Road. Investigators say the pickup driver turned directly in front of the motorcycle, which crashed into the side of the truck.
The motorcycle rider was badly hurt in the crash, Basterrechea said. He suffered multiple broken bones and had lost consciousness by the time paramedics got him to a nearby hospital.
The man remains in serious condition, but is expected to survive, police say.
The driver of the pickup was cited for failure to yield.
