HORSESHOE BEND - The Boise County Sheriff's Office is investigating a one-vehicle motorcycle crash near Horseshoe bend that injured the male rider Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened on Highway 55 at milepost 63 - about a half-mile south of Horseshoe Bend - and was reported at around 3:45 p.m.
Boise County Sheriff Jim Kaczmarek said the motorcyclist was northbound on the highway when it appears that the brakes locked up.
The bike fell sideways, landed on the concrete barricade on the side of the road and slid down the ramp several feet.
Kaczmarek said the rider was wearing a helmet, but the helmet dislodged and the man landed on the back of his head. He was transported by air ambulance to a Boise hospital.
