GENESEE, Idaho — Over sixty cars were involved in a pileup on US Highway 95 near Genesee, Idaho. The Idaho State Police (ISP) said three people were taken to the hospital, but multiple injuries were reported.
The pileup happened on Oct. 4 around 2:30 p.m. According to police strong winds and dust caused the crashes and cars blocked the highway from milepost 321.5 to 322 for several hours as crews cleared the road.
Police determined that nine vehicles crashed, which then caused three chain reactions of three cars apiece.
"The Idaho State Police would like to remind the motoring public that low visibility and hazardous weather conditions require slower speeds and caution when driving on Idaho roadways," the department stated.
