BOISE, Idaho — Multiple first responder organizations have come together to raise awareness about the National Suicide/Crisis Lifeline by placing decals on their emergency vehicles.
On Monday, first responders held an event at Ridgevue High School, unveiling the 'Tomorrow Needs You!' decals sponsored by the Canyon County Paramedic Employee. Foundation. The Nampa Police Department said in a news release that the collective aims to "deliver the message of support to our communities."
"We hope community members in crisis, along with those needing resources for a loved one, will call 9-8-8 for free and confidential support, 24/7," Nampa Police Chief Joe Huff said.
Along with the decal unveiling, Southwest District Health made vibrant stickers for the 'Tomorrow Needs You,' which will be given to local school districts, officials stated.
Monday's event is part of 2024's 2C Kids Week, hosted by 2C Kids Succeed, which aims to provide kids with mental health information and even how to be safe online. The weekly event will run through until April 12.
Organizations that participated in the unveiling were the Nampa Police Department, Caldwell Police Department, Canyon County Paramedics, Nampa Fire Protection District, Canyon County Sheriff's Office, Caldwell PD, Meridian Fire Department and 2C Kids Succeed.
Anyone who may be experiencing thoughts of suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 9-8-8.
