BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a shotgun at a Nampa home.
According to the Nampa Police Department (NPD), the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. when they received a call from a woman who said her boyfriend threatened her and was threatening to hurt others. She had left, and it was believed the boyfriend was alone at the home on the 1000 block of 16th Avenue South.
Police said when they arrived at the home the suspect, 63-year-old Nicholas Todd Drake, refused to speak with police.
Nampa Police said they brought a crisis negotiator to the scene, but Drake still wouldn't communicate with police.
According to the news release, the Nampa Police Department's Tactical Response Team forced their way into the home and took Drake into custody without further incident.
Drake is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting or obstructing arrest.
According to Canyon County's website, Drake was taken and booked into the Canyon County Jail at 6:08 p.m.
