NAMPA -- Nampa police officers saved a dog that fell into a canal overnight.

Police say the pet was in the Wilson Canal near Midland Boulevard and Lake Lowell Avenue. The dog could not get out of the water or climb up the steep embankment by itself.

Officers Jarad Webb and Brad Boster came to the rescue, lifting the pooch from the cold water and carrying it up the embankment. The dog was tired and wet, but unhurt, and has been reunited with its owners.
