NAMPA, Idaho — The Nampa Police Department (NPD) released a community alert that concerns community members with minors in the home.
NPD believe that 20-year-old Austin R. Holbrook, from Kennewick, Washington, may have had conversations with minors in the Nampa area. NPD continued by stating that hey believe the minors Holbrook was talking to online may have been pressured to meet up with him, and NPD's biggest fear is that he has convinced someone to actually meet him.
Holbrook is currently in custody in Washington, and NPD says it is learning more about his involvement with kids in Nampa.
Police say that Holbrook preyed on at least one child in Nampa, which started with online conversations.
In the community alert, there were a few tips that NPD shared:
- If you are a teen who has been talking to this man, please tell a trusted adult or contact NPD.
- If you have a friend you suspect has been talking to Holbrook, contact NPD so they can help the friend. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stopper at 208-343-COPS or submitting a tip online at 343Cops.com
- If you are the parent of a teen or pre-teen and you are concerned your child talked to Holbrook, please contact NPD.
Anyone with information regarding Holbrook is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS or at their dispatch line at 208-465-2257 option 1.
