Nampa snowplows don new names, picked out by students

With names like "Baby Snowda" and "Oh Snow You Didn't" - you'd think they were dubbed by Edgar Allan Snow or Salt Whitman!

NAMPA, Idaho — A few weeks ago, before the chill of winter, the City of Nampa asked the community to help name their new snowplows. The names were provided by Nampa elementary school students, and the results are in.

The six snowplows have been named from the following classes and schools:

  • Baby Snowda (Kindergarten class from Iowa Elementary)
  • Pepe Le Plow (1st Grade - Lake Ridge Elementary)
  • Oh Snow You Didn't! (2nd Grade - Ronald Reagan Elementary)
  • Jack DeFrost (3rd Grade - Centennial Elementary)
  • Abominable Snowplow (4th Grade - Franklin D. Roosevelt Elementary)
  • Salt-osaurus Rex (5th Grade - Iowa Elementary)

Follow the routes and snowplow activity of Oh Snow You Didn't and Abominable Snowplow after a snow event by visiting the website here. The City of Nampa notes that this is data is not live mapping. It is manually entered, so there may be delays.
