BOISE -- The contract between KTVB and DirecTV is set to expire at 11:59 p.m. tonight. Unless a new agreement is reached, KTVB could come off DirecTV's system.
While talks have gone on for months, there is still no agreement in place that would allow KTVB to remain on DirecTV's system beyond the expiration date of tonight.
Doug Armstrong, the President and General Manager of KTVB, said negotiations are ongoing and they're hoping there will be no disruption in service.
We've been trying to talk with them for months and we have a representative from our company who has been regularly talking and meeting with them, and we had hoped we would have this all settled weeks ago, but here we are on the eve of the deadline and it's still not settled, said Armstrong.
KTVB is not the only TV station affected by these negations. There are 15 other stations across the country that are part of parent company BELO that could be affected if a deal is not reached.
A representative with DirecTV says they can't comment on these particular negotiations, but added: We continue to talk and hope to get a deal done and avoid having our customers lose access to their Belo stations.
If KTVB comes off DirecTV, you may still receive the station's signal free, over-the-air or by CableOne or Dish Network.
