BOISE, Idaho — A newly formed night market is seeking to bring Nampa's 'night to life with street food.' The 208 Night Market is coming to the Idaho Hispanic Community Center (IH2C).
The market is bringing over 17 different street food vendors to the IH2C from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Event co-founder Aileen Arredondo told KTVB the event is meant to bring the community together and enjoy the night with a plate full of Hispanic food.
"We want everyone to feel welcome at [the event] and to bring entertainment and the community together so we can get to know each other," she said.
Arredondo said the street vendors at the event will bring different Hispanic foods, including tacos de adobada, street corn, agua frescas and cups of fruit. She emphasized each vendor will be unique. The event flyer states it's a cash-only event because some food vendors are small businesses and online payment may not be offered.
Saturday's event will also feature a guest appearance by the Jefitos, who will bring their classic lowriders. Event organizer Arredondo said their appearance is a tease for their car show at the Ford Expo Center on May 25.
For those who are unable to attend Saturday's event, there will be other chances. Event organizers told KTVB the event will happen every Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. until September.
