ONTARIO, Oregon — A 42-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in a farming accident in a rural area south of Ontario, Oregon, according to the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened at about at 10:35 p.m.
Undersheriff Travis Johnson says an onion harvesting machine was turned on by an operator who did not know the man was nearby. The machine pulled the man in, killing him.
The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Theodore Frahm of Ontario.
Deputies who responded determined it was a tragic accident and there was no criminal intent. That means there will not be a criminal investigation.
