ID=73903140MARSING - Oseas Arriaga is a proud member of the Marsing High School football team. He has special needs, which makes it difficult for him to play, but his teammates and coaches will tell you, Oseas is the heart and soul of the Huskies.

"He's a great role model for our kids," said Marsing coach Norm Stewart. "He's overcome and faces a lot of challenges but he faces them head on."

Oseas has been a part of Marsing football since he was in the 8th grade.

"He kind of is the team in a way," said team co-captain Connor Rhodes. "He puts out more than the rest of us put together."

He is always on the sidelines, cheering for his team.

"I play harder for him, because he doesn't have the opportunity to play," said quarterback Brett Grossman. "I always think about him."

Connor and Brett wanted to do something extra special for Oseas on the field.

"He's all about football and he loves it," Brett said. "I wanted him to experience a high school football game."

To show their appreciation of Oseas' incredible spirit, the team honored him in a special way at Friday night's homecoming game against Melba.

Oseas suited up with the help of his teammates, and was made an honorary captain for the game.

Then he got to run for a touchdown. It was his moment in the sun - a dream come true.

"The whole crowd erupted, it was one of the best things ever," Brett said. "(Oseas) said he didn't think it was real. The smile on his face just gave him away, he loved it."

Oseas says all he could think about was his love for the Huskies. Marsing ended up losing the game, but that was overshadowed by all the good things that happened on that field.

Oseas inspired everyone in the crowd that night. You can tell, he is truly loved in this close-knit Marsing community.
