The price for parking in some downtown Boise garages is about about go up.
Commissioners for the Capital City Development Corporation approved rate hikes for its eight downtown parking garages.
Monthly rates for the most popular garages in the downtown core will go up from $135 per month to $175 per month.
At garages around the perimeter of downtown, the monthly rates will go up from $120 to $140.
Commissioners also approved increases to hourly parking rates from $2.50 to $3 per hour.
The first hour will remain free.
CCDC officials say the increases will help alleviate overcrowding at the most popular downtown garages.
The new rates are expected to go into effect early next year.
