Payette Brewing Co. opens in downtown Boise

BOISE -- Payette Brewing Co. hosted a soft opening of its new $4.5 million headquarters at 733 S. Pioneer Street in Boise Friday night.

Starting in a few weeks, this new brewery and tasting room will be the full-time home of Payette Brewing Co. who will be shutting down its current location in Garden City.

Right now, Payette says they now cranks out more beer than any other brewery in Idaho and with this new facility the brewing company hopes to ramp up its distribution even more.

“The main thing is grow our footprint for distribution,” said Mike Francis, founder of Payette Brewing Co. “Right now we're in five states and we do a little over 10,000 barrels a year. Our initial capacity here is about 40,000 barrels so right off the bat we'll be able to grow and sell more beer in other states as well here in Idaho.”

Francis said that the growth of Payette in the five years since he started the company has far surpassed his expectations.

The brewery's former location in Garden City will remain open until this new space is fully up and running.

The target date for the full grand opening is May 13, Payette's five-year anniversary. The brewery is 21 and over.
