RUPERT, Idaho — A man is dead after he was hit by a semi-truck on Highway 21 in Rupert Friday morning.
Idaho State Police (ISP) said the crash happened at 11:02 a.m. on Westbound Highway 25 when a 37-year-old Burley man was driving a 2024 Volvo semi-truck pulling two trailers hit a 60-year-old pedestrian.
ISP said the truck driver swerved out of the way to avoid hitting the man, but the second trailer hit him.
The man died at the scene, police said. Their identity is unknown.
Police said Westbound Highway 25 was closed for two hours to allow first responders to attend to those involved.
Idaho State Police are still investigating the crash.
