Police: 2 killed, 7 injured in Canyon County crash

KUNA - An 18-year-old man and an unidentified juvenile were killed in a crash late Saturday night that left seven other people injured.

The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Robinson and Kuna roads in Canyon County.

According to Idaho State Police, 18-year-old Thomas L. Hunt of Meridian, was driving an SUV on Robinson Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jacob P. Ware of Kuna.

Two of Hunt's passengers - 18-year-old Zachary J. Newman of Meridian, and an unidentified juvenile - were thrown from the SUV and died on scene, police said.

Hunt and two other juvenile passengers were transported by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Ware and his passengers - 31-year-old Jessica Ware, and two juveniles - were taken by personal vehicle to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa.

There is no word on the conditions of the injured.

Investigators say the passengers in Hunt's SUV were not wearing seat belts. Ware and his passengers were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
