BOISE, Idaho — A suspect wanted for a homicide in Missouri was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Nampa.
According to the Nampa Police Department (NPD), with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force, they arrested Richard Micheal King-Romero, 37, from Independence on a fugitive warrant.
NPD said the arrest happened around 10 a.m. when they received an alert that there was a possible homicide suspect from Missouri in a vehicle in the Treasure Valley. After some time, they located the vehicle, and police made a traffic stop near Garrity and Kings.
Police said King-Romero was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken into custody. While searching the vehicle, police found a gun and an "explosive device."
The Nampa Police Bomb Unit responded to the scene and "rendered the device safe."
Police told KTVB in an email the driver of the vehicle was a woman from Caldwell, and she wasn't arrested during the incident.
King-Romero might face further charges due to the "explosive device" and is being held at the Canyon County Jail on his fugitive warrant, police said.
