BOISE, Idaho — Conservation officers with Idaho Fish and Game are asking the public for information after a mule deer doe was shot and left to waste near Banks earlier this month.
IDFG in a news release said the doe was found in Unit 33, just north and east of Banks in the Zimmer Creek area. Officials believe the animal was shot and left between May 5 and May 8.
Corey Taylor, an Idaho Fish and Game conservation officer, said the doe that was shot was pregnant with two fawns. He called the incident "particularly egregious," because the fawns were very close to being born.
Anyone with information on the doe's death is asked to contact Taylor at 208-781-1391 or call the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5299.
