BOISE, Idaho — A Salvation Army spokesperson said the organization still needs roughly $30,000 for their Red Kettle Campaign, as of Thursday.
The Red Kettle Campaign is an annual campaign that plays a vital role in "funding essential programs that directly impact our community," The Salvation Army stated.
The campaign started the day after Thanksgiving, by placing Red Kettles in select areas seeking donations. As the campaign heads into its final week, the organization has yet to collect funds needed to help the community.
"We started ringing bells the day after Thanksgiving and are heading into the final week, The Salvation Army will mobilize volunteers at prominent locations, including Wal-Mart, Albertson's, and Fred Meyer, to rally support and encourage donations," Major Tom Stambaugh, Boise Corps Officer said.
"We are calling on individuals, businesses and the community at large to join forces in bridging the funding gap. We are needing help with manpower to ring the bells," Stambaugh said. "All donations made in the area will stay local to our community."
The Salvation Army has provided a list of ways to best help their campaign:
