EAGLE, Idaho — The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is working on improvements to the roads in downtown Eagle.

Eagle has seen substantial change in the last decade, bringing lots of growth to the community. As a way to help easy future traffic growth and create a more welcoming downtown, ACHD is shutting down some roads for mobility improvement.

ACHD announced Monday that the intersection of State Street (Old State) and 2nd Street in Eagle will be fully closed starting Wednesday, Sept. 25 and lasting until the end of October.

This is a multi-phase project, with phase one expected to conclude this fall.

Underground utility work will be done in tandem to the road project, ACHD said, to minimize the impact to residents and businesses alike.

During the roadwork, access to downtown Eagle business will be maintained. ACHD reminds folks that the downtown businesses are "ready and eager to serve their customers."
