BOISE, Idaho — Rod Gramer, the CEO for Idaho Business for Education (IBE), has announced his retirement after working with the company for 13 years.
"It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve as President and CEO of Idaho Business for Education over the past eleven years," said Gramer. "I am so proud of IBE's work to strengthen education and help set our students up for success in school, work, and life. I am thrilled that Paula Kellerer will replace me as President. Paula is a long-time educator, a strong strategic thinker, and an effective communicator. She will take IBE to the next level. I plan to remain active in IBE as a volunteer and I will continue to advocate for education and other initiatives that improve the quality of life for all Idahoans, especially our youngest and most vulnerable citizens."
Prior to his work at IBE, Gramer worked in news and journalism for 38 years. He had been a reporter, newspaper editor and worked at KTVB for 10 years as the Executive News Director and Viewpoint moderator.
Dr. Paula Kellerer, the Vice President of IBE's Youth Apprenticeship Program, will take over Gramer's position.
"Rod Gramer has been instrumental in advancing the mission of IBE in support of strong Idaho schools and high school graduates who are workforce ready," said Dr. Kellerer. "His leadership has laid a strong foundation to further the work of Idaho's businesses as they support public education. I am deeply grateful for his leadership and look forward to continuing the good work of creating an effective environment where employers partner with educators and other partners in co-creating the highly educated and skilled workforce needed for Idaho's future."
