Rudy the Rooster lands at Boise eatery

After months of moving around to different locations, Rudy the Rooster has finally landed at a new home - the Capri restaurant in downtown Boise.

BOISE - After months of moving around to different locations, Rudy the Rooster has finally landed at a new home.

The North End icon now sits atop of the Capri restaurant in downtown Boise. Nick West, owner of Capri and Delsa's Ice Cream Parlour, says they had a painter come in and touch up the seven-foot bird before they debuted it at the new location.

Rudy sat on the roof of Jim's Coffee Shop from 1961 until January, when the coffee shop closed.

Since then, Rudy has been spotted all over town.

"We had a vote going on Facebook where people could vote where they wanted to see him go," said West. "A lot of people were voting for Delsa's Ice Cream... and the whole North End wanted him at the Capri. After a couple weeks, I realized Rudy was more of a downtown bird.

West says they put a sign up that said "Honk if you love Rudy," and likely got close to a thousand honks a day.
