BOISE, Idaho — From the family services to the food pantry to the shelter to the family thrift store, the Salvation Army helps tens of thousands of people every year.
We have learned that Boise's last remaining Salvation Army thrift store on State Street will soon close its doors.
The nonprofit says this is all part of an ongoing effort to bring more support to the under-served community on Boise's west side.
This fall the Salvation Army will open its new Boise Corps Community Center on Emerald Street.
The center will provide clothing, food, education, and counseling to those in need.
It will also be the new home of the Boise School District's Booth Marian Pritchett School for pregnant and parenting teens.
The family thrift store on State Street will close its doors on Friday, June 14th.
