Semi truck, tour bus collide near Hagerman

Police say the bus driver was trying to use a turnout to turn around on the highway when she crashed into the semi.

One person was hurt when a tour bus hit a semi Tuesday morning on U.S. 30.

HAGERMAN, Idaho -- Idaho State Police are investigating after a tour bus crashed into a semi truck on U.S. 30 Tuesday morning.

The collision happened at 7:14 a.m. near Hagerman in Twin Falls County.

According to investigators, the driver of the tour bus - identified as Christina J. O'Conner of San Francisco - was using a turnout in the road to turn the bus around from the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 into the westbound lanes.

Teresa Watson, of Nampa, was driving west in a semi when the bus hit her truck. Watson was not wearing a seatbelt, and was injured in the crash. O'Conner wasn't hurt.

Although there were passengers on the bus at the time of the wreck, they were not injured, police say.

Watson was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls. The extent of her injuries has not been released.

The crash blocked the highway in both directions for five hours.
